It is totally dependent upon the rainfall and the floodgates upriver in New Mexico. However, normal river levels in *most* of the park are passable in a canoe and kayak in March, as well as April. Come May, the water level starts to drop rapidly as the border communities above the Rio Grande start pumping water out to irrigate their crops.

Hi. From what I am able to gather, yes, you can kayak in March, but a lot depends on how much rain has fallen. The links have more information. Hope this helps.

Gotta go along with Taz- but you might try N.E. New Mexico-Rio Grande Gorge for some major rapids.
